My Starry Eyes

brings the programme of the current album of the same name to the stage, which has been awarded two Silver Medals at the Global Music Awards!
The very different personal stories drawn from life are presented authentically in equally diverse musical guises: in their arrangements, SIMONE HELLE & THE 6th SENSE create a wide range of soundscapes that touch the listener and take them on an emotional journey.

My Baby Just Cares For Me – Love Affairs and Civil Rights

– a tribute to Nina Simone and her musical era
With joy, virtuosity and deep feeling, Simone Helle (vocals) and Martin Scholz (piano) dive into jazz and soul from the era of Nina Simone, Billy Preston and Jimmy Smith through to contemporary jazz pieces. A reminiscence of a time of transformation on every level. Powerful, tender and fragile at the same time.

Simone Helle & The 6th Sense

Simone Helle, a jazz singer who grew up in Germany with Persian roots, presents the album of the same name together with her band “Simone Helle & The 6th Sense”. Through her lyrics, Simone Helle tells personal stories from very different perspectives:

As a child reflecting on the experience of an (inner) search for home in “My Inner Home”, as a loving partner in “This Fragile Love”, or as a mother in “My Starry Eyes” and “Lullaby for a Little Star”, she conveys with great authenticity the themes that matter most to her.

At the same time, the band enchants the audience with its distinctive soundscapes and emotions turned into sound – in the spirit of “Emotions Become Sound”.

Let us agree - Konzert für Vielfalt und Menschenrechte

The development of the moving programme LET US AGREE, consisting of soul, swing and oriental jazz, was supported by Soziokultur NRW and the City of Duisburg.

Musically, the programme includes excursions into the US civil rights movement, complemented by original compositions by Kioomars Musayyebi, among others a member of the Dortmund Transorient Orchestra, and Simone Helle.

“Simone Helle & The Let Us Agree Connection” skilfully combines these serious themes with joyful and optimistic aspects. The result is an oriental-inspired jazz – a “virtuosic overall soundscape” (WN, Martin Feldhaus 07/24) and a musical blend of “Orient meets Occident”.
